Overview

Rediscover your favorite flavors with The AeroPress Coffee Maker–an entirely unique way to brew coffee! Whether you're competing in the National Aeropress Championships, or just making a warm cup to kick off your backpacking adventures–coffee brewed through the Aeropress will consistently create smooth, rich, and nuanced flavors.

What makes it so different? Rather than pouring hot water over a bed of grounds to over-extract at the center and under-extract around the edge–the AeroPress utilizes the full submersion method, and separates extracted coffee through high-pressure processing micro-filters to create a grit free cup unlike any other.

Check out the Fellow Prismo Aeropress Attachment if you're interested in creating a shot of espresso through the Aeropress! Brews anywhere between 1 and 4 cups of coffee or espresso.

Plastic smells like chemicals even after washing

My wife was thoughtful enough to gift me an Aeropress for Christmas. After carefully washing the plastic parts three times in warm soapy water, the plastic was still off gassing a chemical smell. We are not fussy whiners and use food safe plastic products. Even new, NONE of those share the Aeropress' chemical smell. Super disappointed in the product, especially after all the hype.

Too easy to fail

Can't say enough good things! I roast every week for 25+ years and use this ever since my espresso machine boiler died. Easy to clean, easy to use. When I asked around all of my Roaster friends admit they have one and use it regularly so it's not just me!

Straightforward, top notch

So straightforward, and the coffee is top notch. It's a bit like a paintbrush in that the tool is simple but the possibilities are endless. I have liked using an approach I found in a video from Stumptown.

Simply the best first step into brewing good coffee at home

I only recently started to take the quality of my coffee seriously, and as a beginner, I was always recommended to start with the AeroPress. After trying many different AeroPress recipes - there really are so many - I can simply say that the AeroPress is extremely versatile, remarkably consistent, and somehow extremely kind to beginners. I absolutely recommend the AeroPress to anyone who enjoys making a good cup of coffee at home.

Great Portable 1-Cup Coffee Maker

Makes one of the best cups of coffee you ever had, if you have available hot water source at just the right temperature. Like an espresso machine it is designed to limit the amount of time hot water contacts the grounds so as not to 'cook' the ground cofee and release unpleasant and bitter compounds into your cup. It does a great job of producing the smoothest, mellowest cup of rich, flavoful coffee if you press out the coffee within 20-30 seconds. It does not produce espresso, for that you still need an espresso machine with powerful pump. I have an espresso machine for espresso drinks and the aeropress for a regular cup of coffee and for traveling.

Best cup of coffee you will ever press!

I've had mine for over 2 years now and am buying a replacement now. Thought I'd give a review. I got mine about a month after I took a cruise on an Italian Cruise ship. My best review of the cruise, was the Italian coffee brewers. I thought I'd never again enjoy coffee in America until my Aeropress arrived! We are a house hold of 3 grown, coffee drinking men with literally hundreds of dollars of specialty coffee machines sitting on a closet shelf! The reason I'm buying another is that we have worn this baby out! This is the fastest, most delicious coffee you will ever sip. All it takes is the time to heat water past 175 degree's! Doesn't even need a full boil! The hot tap on my water dispenser does a great job too! From hot water to first sip is done in a minute... and that includes cleaning up after yourself! The easiest, most forgiving coffee maker in the world! I have a restaurant Espresso machine that takes 4 times longer to produce a cup of coffee and the coffee packs are $.75 a cup! I brew "Caf? Bustelo" Espresso grind/roast straight from the can for less than $.15 a cup and I'm taking about a cup that makes you weak in the knees at the first sip! So worth trying!!!! Costs less than 10 cups from Starbucks and tastes muuuch better!

Perfect to take on trips

The Aeropress makes a great cup of coffee and is ideal to take with you when you travel. You can find plenty of resources online on all different kinds of preparation recipes. It's also very easy to clean.By the way, the recipe that comes in the instructions is basically one of the worst forms of preparing coffee in the Aeropress :) Just throw those instructions away and search for alternative recipes online. Start with Seattle Coffee Gear's videos on YouTube, for example. You can also buy a metal filter to add yet another variable to your brew process. It produces a better or worse cup in my opinion depending on the coffee.

A remarkable plastic piece of heaven

I've had this remarkable plastic piece of heaven for a couple years now. I'll tell ya, my first year was full of growing pains with some odd and, apparently, extremely rare problems with my press. The coffee it produces is the best I've ever had, owing a lot to being freshly made, but mostly to the method of brewing. The coffee is incredibly consistent and flexible in the strength by letting you choose both the amount of water and coffee. I've raved about this device and always will. Now, as stated, I've had problems and this is what is really remarkable. I called for a warranty issue within the first year and was immediately sent a replacement. The second year, same problem and was again immediately sent a replacement. Aerobie asked me to keep in touch after sending a revised replacement material and I did. I had compressed my plunger by storing it inside the chamber, without knowing this was possible, and was sent another plunger at no cost after contacting them! OMG, where have you ever heard of anything like this? Nowhere, that's where! I have actually had real live conversations with several people from the company and have even emailed back and forth. These people are truly dedicated to their product, customers and your experience. I can, without any reservation, recommend this product and the company. You will not regret it and if you have any problems I am certain you'll be satisfied with the results. Promise!

Absolutely a clean cup of coffee, as strong as you dare but without any grit.

Perfect for a quick cup of coffee!

This makes the perfect clean cup of coffee with so much flavor! My husband and I are normally french press and pour-over drinkers, but this has been a very fun, and delicious, addition. Our cups are full-bodied and strong like french press, but free of grit like pour-over. And so much faster! It's the best of both worlds.

Makes outstanding coffee

A wonderfully simple invention that produces smooth, not-bitter coffee. Experiment with various roasts, grinds, times, temperatures and techniques. They all have an impact on the finished product. A big revelation for me was using lower temperature water (about 175-180 degrees) for the initial brewing. If you like your coffee hotter, add boiling water after pressing.

We've been eating the plastic!

Mine also developed crazing and abrasions and after close examination, I see the plastic has been leaching into the coffee and we've been drinking it... ugh! It's a shame because it makes great coffee. Now I have to find something, preferably non-plastic, that makes coffee just as well.

Home run

I am consistently making the best coffee of my life with the combination of the AeroPress (I used the inverted method) and coffee ground fresh each time I drink it. I am a convert from the French press, which makes good coffee but has some drawbacks for me as a solo coffee drinker: sludge at the bottom of the cup, bitter notes in the second cup (or mug) if you store the coffee in a vacuum bottle, and cleanup. The AeroPress addresses the sludge and cleanup problems beautifully, and even as we speak they're probably working on a MegaAeroPress to make coffee for a mass of drinkers. One caveat: The AeroPress I ordered from SCG is my second one (for a place I sometimes visit), and the plunger seems to fit a bit more loosely in the chamber than it does on my original model. This might make the inverted method a bit more chancy that it is with the original, but I haven't used the new one enough yet to make a definitive judgment on that question.

Good buy

I like everything about this coffeemaker except that you can only make enough for one person at a time. Oh...and there are 2 parts that I haven't figured out what they are for.LOL

fun product but

it's a great product but I think logo design on the body of product can be better. it makes the product cheap made.this doesn't affect of making coffee quality but makes difference.I bought the metal mesh filter too. but when I inserted the filter, I couldn't closed the cap. The Metal filter is little thicker than the space.I think I should press it little more harder and smash it little bit to fit the space. I think it will be no problem.

Makes great coffee.

It's quick, easy to operate, simple to clean, and produces an excellent cup of coffe for any taste.

does not hold up well

Mine developed cracks and crazing right away, and no, I did not put it through a dishwasher. It also took remarkable strength to press, if your grind was just a little too fine. The strong coffee was good tasting, but this does not emulate espresso in any way.

Great Coffee Maker

Faster and tastes better than French Press. Not an espresso maker, however. For a quick, concentrated cup of coffee, the aeropress is top notch. Bring this along with a hand grinder and you can make coffee pretty much anywhere. About water temperature: play with it. I use water anywhere between 175-205 depending on the bean. Different temperature water changes the flavor and the brew time of whatever coffee you're making. Lighter roast=hotter water and slightly longer brew times for me. I really think this is the best way to make most single origin coffees. You can get all the subtle flavors of the bean using the aeropress. This and my espresso machine (CC1) are the only two ways I brew coffee anymore.
