It's too early to tell if it will last. Which is my hardest criticism nowadays. But it is constructed well. Grinds fast and consistently and our coffees all taste much better with the new grinder. Coffee blooms more, the fast grinding doesn't heat the beans etc. The most noticable difference besides coffee flavor and texture. Is how quiet this grinder is compared to many in this price point.

I did tons of research and kept going back and forth between this and several other brands. I"m absolutely pleased and satisfied with my choice. Compared to my previous Breville grinder, this OXO is definitely a step up to a new dimension. Easy to use right out of the box and much better assembly than the Breville so dismantling and reassembling for cleaning will be quick and easy. The burr assembly is much more substantial than the Breville. Sorry Breville but facts are facts. The hopper is bigger than I expected but I find that sort of nice. Stainless steel receiving cup retains just a touch of static coffee fuzz on the rim but nothing compared to plastic.and it's easily blown or swooshed off. One review somewhere said the OXO leaves grounds where the cup sits but I've seen none of that or at most negligible. Can't speak to the grind consistency across the spectrum--medium grind has been great with my Bona Vita drip coffee maker. The only place the OXO scores lower than the Breville is in regard to the cord. Breville had an excess cord wrap channel underneath, the OXO does not. Still scoring OXO five stars, it makes grinding a pleasant task.

The machine will only grind on very coarse settings. Trying to get it to grind for pour over after just one year of use leads to the flow of grounds getting bound up. It is not usable after one year of light use. I followed instructions on cleaning the burrs and still cannot get it to consistently grind for anything other than French press. Very disappointing.

When it works, it's great, producing a very uniform grind. Unfortunately, it worked for only about 10 grinds; now, the motor whirs, but no coffee is ground. An unsatisfactory session with customer support resulted in the recommendation that I give it a thorough cleaning, which I already did. Did it again, according to their instructions, and it still does not grind coffee. On reading many reviews, it appears that this grinder cannot handle dark roast beans, which are oilier than lighter roast beans. As a dark roast guy, this is unacceptable. Others report that they have been told to do a thorough cleaning after every use, which involves emptying and removing the hopper, removing the upper burr assembly and cleaning the chute with a flexible tool. As someone who has used grinders for 40 years, I have never owned one that required this level of maintenance. But it doesn't matter; it's just not grinding anything.

Easy to adjust, fast, and works great. It is exactly what I wanted in a mill.

This was a huge step up from the my Cuisinart (you know the one, lol) in terms of grind consistency and noise. The OXO isn?t quiet but it is a much more deliberate sound that doesn?t wake my kids up when I make my morning Java. This grinder is a revelation for someone entirely too used to a big clump of fines in their drip grind.

I bought this grinder about 2-½ years ago, impressed by the ratings and thumbs up in several consumer publications. It worked well for two years but after that, I began to experience severe jamming problems grinding any type of beans. Unfortunately, you don't realize that it's jammed since the grinder still makes whirring noises even though it's not grinding beans. Opening up the grinding area was a nightmare of a mess, ½ ground beans jammed in with partially ground ones. Despite a thorough cleaning, the jamming recurred within a few days, and I had the same dilemma on my hands, again. Really, I think a burr grinder should last more than just a few years.

It replaced a Cuisinart. I disliked the fact that it had that plastic cup and the grounds would stick like glue from the static.This OXO is a big step up! Fast and precise. Stainless steel cup means no static cling! We also figured out the correct time setting so we can just hit the button and it will grind a consistent amount of coffee that we could then just dump into the filter. Much better, much easier.

Fantastic , reliable, great quality grinds for what we need. Metal basket is much nicer than cheaper plastic ones too. Perfect size to compliment our drip coffee maker. Simple and stylish design, wish more brands would take note on form and function with their products.

I knew this before buying the grinder - it doesn't do a good job on grinding dark roast beans. Otherwise, I am quite satisfied with the product. Generally grinding enough dark roast beans for a single cup of coffee doesn't cause issues. But, grinding a large quantity of beans at one go causes the burr to heat up. In turn the oily surface on the beans softens quite a bit from the heat developing in the burr and results in clogging the discharge chute. The result is frequently stopping the grinding and clearing the discharge chute. Medium and light roast beans- no problem.

This OXO coffee grinder is honestly the best one I've ever had! I have had handheld grinders from Krups and Braun, which work ok, but you have to guess when to stop grinding the beans. I have been brewing a lot of French press coffee lately and this Oxo lets me set the grind from fine to course, and everything in between, and set the amount by timing out how much I need precisely for each pot. The best part is, it is very clean to use!!! There are no extra grounds that fall on the counter or need wiping up. It is a great product!

Great Coffee Grinder that doesn't wake the whole house up in the morning. Love the fine grind setting!

It was great for a few months, but it just stopped grinding. I added some beans and the burrs got stuck. I took it apart to clean it and found whole beans throughout the grinder underneath the bowl. I cleaned it according to the manual and it still is not working. Really disappointing to spend this much for it to only work 90 days. I contacted SCG and they told me to call OXO, they only cover the first 30 days.

The grinder is just as sturdy as I expected. The stainless steel receptor for the grounds means almost no mess, because of limited static. It took a bit of time to get how to clean it, but once I got the rythm it works very well. At first it seemed to need very frequent cleaning but after a while it it did not. Possibly because I gave it a little tap each time I put beans in the hopper to settle the beans in the bottom.

This grinder has met my expectaitons as a 1-2 cup a day coffee drinker. I looked at a more expensive grinder, but this one is really good for the price and for my needs. Now that I've been using it for a few months, I'd recommend it for sure. It does retain about 1-1.5 grams of grinds in the machine unless I thunk it on the counter a little bit to release them after the initial grind. Now I just add an extra gram or 2 of beans before I grind.

Have had this about two weeks and are nothing but pleased. It is quiet for a coffee grinder and has plenty of grind selections and timing options for strength too. The surprise has bern the anti-static receptacle. Makes keeping everything clean SO much easier. Excellent product at a very reasonable price point.

The grinder works as expected and all of the parts are excellent with some nice features. I especially like the receptacle for the grounds as it is sturdy and fits nicely and securely under the grinder. BUT, the grinder itself is really noisy with a shrill sound that borders on the unpleasant. So that is why it is 4 Stars and not 5.

i love it. The grounds do not stick to the wall of the container after grinding, the coffee is very good, thanks to the perfect grind. It holds enough beans to do several pots of coffee before you have to add beans. It is a winner.

This is a great coffee grinder and a huge step up from the blade grinder we were using. It provides an even grind for french press, which is our primary mode of making coffee at home. Really great value and quality for the price!

Clean and efficient. I like the grind for my daily press. Wish it was smaller so I didn't have to store on the counter. The countertop clutter is annoying.

I've had trouble finding grinders that will grind fine enough for espresso. I'm a little picky about it but this grinder does the job. Very easy to use and clean as well. Very pleased.

Really changes the quality of my coffee!

We enjoy using it. Have realized stirring the coffee In the steeping process leads to the filter becoming clogged when it’s time to drain the brewer. So we now put in the water and coffee and forget about it until the next day, then flip the switch.

Since I enjoy my two daily cups of coffee, I discovered that grinding my own provides me with the type of coffee that best suits my needs. The OXO grinder replaced another conical burr grinder that failed after 3.5 years. My first impression of the OXO was very positive. Simple to set up, quiet, grind quality for pour over coffee was excellent. Very low static cling. Taking it apart and cleaning it was a breeze. The price of the grinder was great and the 2 year warranty very good. Seattle Coffee Gear online ordering was easy and the delivery was timely.
